On 3 June 2026, the CDIF4EOSC (Developing and Implementing the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework for EOSC) project officially launched with its first consortium meeting, bringing together 21 partner organisations from across Europe and beyond.
The online kick-off event marked the beginning of an ambitious collaboration focused on advancing interoperability, FAIR data integration, and data sharing within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
Technovative Solutions Ltd (TVS) participated in the meeting alongside 57 attendees representing the project's diverse consortium of research institutions, infrastructure providers, technology organisations, and domain experts. Kollol Chakraborty, Senior Software Engineer at Technovative Solutions Ltd, and AL Hashemi Rafsan Jani, Senior Software Engineer, represented the organisation in the meeting for the project's official launch and discussions on the work that lies ahead.

A Strong Start for the CDIF4EOSC Consortium
The kick-off meeting provided an important opportunity for all consortium members to introduce their organisations, present their respective work packages, and align on the project's vision, objectives, and implementation strategy.
From TVS's perspective, the meeting was both informative and well organised, offering a detailed overview of the project and its planned activities. Consortium members received a comprehensive walkthrough of the work packages, tasks, milestones, and deliverables that will guide the project's implementation over the coming years.
The discussions also covered project governance, collaboration processes, and coordination mechanisms, helping to establish a strong foundation for effective cooperation among partners. As a newly formed consortium, the meeting was instrumental in creating a shared understanding of responsibilities and ensuring that all partners are aligned on the project's goals from the outset.
About the CDIF4EOSC Project
CDIF4EOSC aims to further develop and implement the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework (CDIF) by extending existing recommendations and introducing additional profiles, guidelines, and practical use-case examples.
The project will promote a FAIR-by-design approach for creating FAIR digital objects and support the integration of data, services, and infrastructures across scientific domains. Its overarching objective is to enable FAIR integration by developing the CDIF4EOSC Playbook and positioning it at the heart of EOSC practices while ensuring full integration within the EOSC Federation.
By improving interoperability across domains, the project seeks to simplify the way research data and services are shared, discovered, accessed, and reused throughout Europe. The framework, tools, and services developed during the project will help researchers and organisations overcome interoperability challenges while supporting broader adoption of FAIR principles.
TVS's Role in CDIF4EOSC
Technovative Solutions Ltd is an active consortium partner in CDIF4EOSC, contributing to several work packages while taking a leadership role in advancing FAIR integration between EOSC and European Data Spaces.
TVS has assembled a dedicated project team comprising:
- Dr Mohammad Azizur Rahman, Director at TVS
- Miah Raihan Mahmud Arman, Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
- Kollol Chakraborty, Senior Software Engineer
- AL Hashemi Rafsan Jani, Senior Software Engineer
All four team members contribute to the following Project outputs:
- CDIF4EOSC Playbook
- CDIF4EOSC Tools and Services Development
- Dissemination, training, stakeholder engagement
TVS will also co-lead the Work Package titled “FAIR Integration with EOSC Nodes and EU Data Spaces”, specifically on the task “FAIRification and Ingestion Pipeline SIMPL-compliant”.
Through these activities, TVS will contribute directly to creating a more connected and interoperable European data ecosystem. The work aligns closely with the company's expertise in digital platforms, interoperability solutions, data integration, and FAIR-compliant technologies.
Participation in CDIF4EOSC also presents an exciting opportunity for TVS to collaborate with leading experts in EOSC, FAIR principles, cross-domain interoperability, and data spaces. Working alongside 20 other consortium partners creates valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and innovation while supporting the development of practical solutions that will benefit the wider European research and innovation community.
Supporting the Future of FAIR and Interoperable Research
The expected impact of CDIF4EOSC extends beyond the project consortium itself. By building a robust cross-domain interoperability framework, the project aims to support the wider EOSC ecosystem through the development of AI-assisted FAIRification tools and services and by facilitating integration with the EOSC Federation, EOSC Nodes, and Common European Data Spaces.
These advancements will help improve the discoverability, accessibility, interoperability, and reuse of research data while making it easier for organisations to adopt FAIR practices. Ultimately, the project will contribute to a more connected European research landscape where data and services can move seamlessly across disciplines, infrastructures, and national boundaries.
Looking Ahead
With the project now officially underway, attention is turning towards implementation. For TVS, the coming months will focus on analysing requirements, engaging with relevant stakeholders, and breaking down the project's technical objectives into concrete development activities.
The team is particularly looking forward to contributing to the implementation of integration tools and related services that will support FAIR-compliant interoperability across the EOSC ecosystem. This work will not only contribute to the success of CDIF4EOSC but will also further strengthen TVS's expertise in developing solutions for research infrastructures and European digital ecosystems.
As the consortium begins delivering its first milestones, TVS is excited to work alongside its partners to help shape the future of FAIR integration and cross-domain interoperability across Europe. The kick-off meeting marked an important first step, and we look forward to sharing further updates as the CDIF4EOSC journey progresses.
